Meet Meredith Sand
Roots in Creativity: From Orlando to Artistry
Born and raised in Orlando, Florida, Meredith has always been guided by a love of creativity. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Southern Methodist University in 2005, she returned home to pursue a successful career in corporate marketing. Even in those roles - from leading art direction to brand strategy to public relations - Meredith’s passion for art never stopped bubbling to the surface.
From Corporate to Creative: The Birth of Meredith Sand Design
Though thriving in the corporate world, Meredith felt a deeper pull toward hands-on creativity. What began as a hobby—making handmade gifts with notecards and stamps—quickly grew into something more. In 2015, her work caught the attention of Strathmore Artist Papers (Check out the interview!), who commissioned her designs. That pivotal moment marked the official beginning of Meredith Sand Designs and set her on a joyful new path.
Expanding Horizons: A Business Evolves
Meredith’s artistry continued to flourish as she began drawing her own illustrations and carving stamps. By 2023, her home studio had blossomed into a business that included textiles, with her pieces showcased in Orlando boutiques and at pop-up events with national brands like Williams Sonoma and West Elm. Each step added new layers of creativity and community connection to her journey.
A Dream Takes Root in the Milk District
In December, a simple suggestion from her son Jack sparked an idea that bloomed into something extraordinary. With encouragement from collaborator Adam Wonus of Atrium Management—and the unwavering support of the Milk District community—Meredith opened the Meredith Sand Designs Studio and Gallery at the Milk Stacks.
The Studio is a joyful workspace where Meredith and fellow local artists create and share their art with the community. The Gallery transforms those works into immersive displays, styled to reflect each artist’s theme, while also serving as a venue for events of all kinds. Together, they form a vibrant hub where art, creativity, and connection truly blossom—just as Jack first imagined.
Family and Community: Art with Heart
As a proud mother of two, Meredith often includes her children, Jack and Kate, in her creative world, nurturing their imagination and entrepreneurial spirit. Beyond her own work, she is dedicated to giving back, supporting local nonprofits through leadership roles with the Orlando Science Center and Central Florida Public Media (NPR’s regional affiliate).
For Meredith, art is more than a career—it is a way to bring people together, spark joy, and celebrate the beauty of creativity in everyday life.
